I was very happy to Skype with several family members last night and feel so fortunate to have internet access during training. Such a luxury!
A few struggles today but all were vanquished with the arrival of my first piece of mail! Woohoo! Thank you Aunt Terry and Uncle Wayne! It totally made my day.
Last night’s ‘rain event’ brought pretty near perfect temps today.
Today also brought my first of three rabies vaccinations (the peanut gallery can withhold comments on that one) plus several talks from the medical team discussing everything from treating water to using an EpiPen since we’ll be working with bees. I also had several laughs with my groupies today but the best one was in Spanish class. I had a total brain freeze when my turn came around but eventually stumbled my way through my answer describing a fellow student at the table. The teacher then moved to the young woman next to me who was asked to describe me. She tried to say “Ella es linda” (She is pretty) but instead said “Ella es lento” (she is slow)! While she was horrified, the rest of us almost fell out of our chairs laughing because it was very true today!
I’m off to spend time with my host family… I hope you are all well!
Jajotopata,
