Transformation

Though I returned from Peace Corps over a year ago, I continue to discover on a regular, if not daily, basis ways the experience has thoroughly transformed every part of my being and soul. It is fascinating, surprising, intriguing, delightful…like an unexpected Christmas morning where gifts randomly show up unannounced. The challenges, learnings, and rewards are paying their dividends in ways I never could have anticipated and I am loving every reveal. It’s like meeting a new me every day and loving her a little more each time. New gifts I bring to the table, things I have let go of, the way I see and feel the world and the people around me…Words can’t express the gratitude and awe I feel for this unveiling process and my Peace Corps experience. I’ve always said it was one of the most challenging things I’ve ever done but, turns out, it’s also one of the things with the biggest payoff, the gift that keeps on giving. The people of Paraguay will never know how deeply they have touched me and changed my life in the most beautiful ways.

Hello dear Wendy, I just found your Transformation Post and it made me feel so Happy for you. An experience like that IS indeed a gift that continues to touch our lives. Hope you are doing wonderfully and have found engaging/fulfilling work and a few nice men to dance with. Anything serious, in that department? I had fun with a man this winter…I can not let it get too serious, but definitely some good times in the process. As we get older, we know what we need for the long haul. Keeping one eye on the prize that is A GOOD FIT. Hope to see you this Summer for a beach swim or cup of tea. Love, Dana

    Hello Wendy,

I am enjoying your posts. I had replied a year ago, mentioning that my family and I were planning a move to Paraguay. One daughter has since married, our home and business is now managed by another family, etc, etc. A lot to do to leave one country for another! Your posts make my heart full. It is exactly what I am looking for. There is so much to experience and learn, and lots of confusion, laughing and crying to go along with the experiences. I have no idea how to message you directly. And, thank you for the time spent writing the wonderful stories. Shelley
